Use Miracle-Gro® Perlite only when growing in containers to help those plants develop strong roots in potting mixes. The addition of perlite to a container also can help to improve drainage and aeration for plant roots. This lightweight media helps to prevent soil compaction when mixed evenly with potting mix. Miracle-Gro® Perlite can also be used to start plants from root cuttings. To do this, dip a cutting in rooting compound according to rooting compound directions. After roots have formed, transplant cuttings into Miracle-Gro® Potting Mix. It can also be used for storing bulbs and root crops.
